Geiger
Meet Delilah Deerborn, a physics major with a twist that sets her apart from the academic crowd. While studying at Empire State University, Delilah's life took an unexpected turn when an accident involving an experimental particle accelerator granted her an extraordinary ability. The surge of radiation endowed her with the power to mimic the abilities of nearby superhumans who had been exposed to gamma radiation. However, what seemed like a unique advantage quickly turned into a nightmare. As Delilah grappled with her newfound powers, a gamma-powered serial killer wreaked havoc on the streets of New York. To make matters worse, Delilah started experiencing vivid dreams that turned out to be the killer's thoughts. She was literally seeing the world through his eyes. The situation escalated when a sighting of the murderer prompted the intervention of the NYPD and their superhuman consultant, Doc Samson. In a dramatic confrontation, Samson apprehended the suspect, only to discover that it was Delilah herself. Her powers had physically and mentally transformed her into the likeness of the deranged killer, known as Patchwork. Realizing there was more to Delilah than met the eye, Samson devised a plan to bring her back to her senses. By having her copy his gamma patterns, Delilah gained super strength and newfound confidence, adopting the moniker Geiger. Now equipped with the ability to track Patchwork due to her unique connection to his gamma signature, Geiger, albeit inexperienced, set out to capture the real perpetrator. The journey was fraught with challenges that nearly led to an early retirement for both her and Samson. Fortunately, with the assistance of She-Hulk, Polaris, and a stroke of luck, Patchwork's civilian identity was unveiled, leading to his apprehension. Post-capture, Samson, recognizing the potential in Geiger, provided her with a lock of his hair to help stabilize her if she ever picked up negative gamma signals. This gesture marked a turning point in Geiger's journey. In a surprising twist of fate, Iron Man identified Geiger as a valuable recruit for the Initiative. Embracing the opportunity, she joined the program alongside other trainees. However, their mettle was tested when they faced defeat at the hands of KIA. Undeterred, Geiger played a crucial role in combating the Skrulls during their attempted takeover of Earth, showcasing her resilience and determination in the face of adversity.
