Did Hasbro just give fans the middle finger?
PulseCon was in full swing, and enthusiasts are buzzing with excitement as the event brings forth a plethora of announcements and revelations from various brands under the Hasbro umbrella. While iconic franchises like Star Wars and Transformers undoubtedly command attention, it’s Marvel Legends that continue to captivate the fans.
At long last, Hasbro has chosen PulseCon as the stage to fulfill one of its promises—the unveiling of the Spider-Man: No Way Home wave of Marvel Legends figures. What makes this line particularly special is its retro-carded packaging, reminiscent of the classic blister packages that are sure to evoke a sense of nostalgia.
While a three-pack featuring key Spider-Man variants was released earlier this year, the grand reveal at PulseCon holds significance beyond the collector’s realm. This new wave heralds some remarkable first-time appearances for the renowned Marvel Legends line.
Hasbro’s Spider-Man: No Way Home Marvel Legends figures, announced at PulseCon, are poised to make waves. This wave technically stands as the second instalment dedicated to the film, with the initial wave having notable omissions due to Marvel not sharing the full cast list with Hasbro—especially the returning Spider-Men. Now, however, they have been integrated into the new wave, albeit with an unexpected twist.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Spider-Man makes his debut in the iconic “Final Swing” costume that graced the film’s closing scenes. While other high-end collectible manufacturers have previously crafted renditions of this suit, it’s a first for Hasbro to venture into this territory.
Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Men also join the lineup, each accompanied by alternate heads depicting their unmasked likenesses. Notably, the Garfield figure represents the Amazing Spider-Man 2 version of the character, though no explanation is provided for this distinct portrayal.
Zendaya’s MJ and Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock make their debut in the Marvel Legends assortment. Zendaya’s figure is her first inclusion in the line, while Cox’s Daredevil represents the first un-costumed version (an earlier release featured a Season 1 Daredevil figure based on the Netflix series). Completing the wave is Thomas Haden Church’s Sandman.
But the excitement doesn’t end there. PulseCon brought additional surprises with the unveiling of two new villains. Deluxe Legends figures inspired by Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin and Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus, both in their No Way Home designs, were showcased.
For those eager to add these figures to their collection, the entire wave is available for pre-order on Hasbro Pulse. As of now, there’s no official word on availability for non-Pulse members.
