MCU’s Weirdest Mad Scientist, The High Evolutionary Explained

Marvel fans are excited for the upcoming release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which will introduce a new villain to the MCU: the High Evolutionary.

In the first Guardians Vol. 3 trailer, the team is shown making a trip to Earth. However, something is clearly wrong with this world, and it quickly becomes clear that they are not on Earth at all, but on Counter-Earth. This artificial replica of Earth is meant to be a paradise where the High Evolutionary can pursue his experiments without interference. Counter-Earth is an almost exact mirror of Earth and even orbits on the opposite side of the sun. The twist is that time moves differently on Counter-Earth, allowing the High Evolutionary to speed up his evolutionary experiments.

The High Evolutionary and his creation, Counter-Earth, could play a key role in the MCU’s Multiverse Saga. Fans will have to wait and see how the Guardians of the Galaxy team deals with this new threat in the upcoming film.

Who is The High Evolutionary?

The High Evolutionary is a character based in the Marvel Comics universe. He is a brilliant geneticist who is obsessed with advancing the human race through scientific means. In order to achieve this goal, the High Evolutionary has conducted numerous experiments, resulting in the creation of a new breed of human/animal hybrids known as New Men.

The High Evolutionary’s real name is Herbert Edgar Wyndham, and he was born in England. As a young man, Wyndham became fascinated with the concept of evolution and dedicated his life to studying the subject. He eventually became a leading expert in the field, and was approached by the High Evolutionary, a mysterious figure who claimed to be the guardian of the evolutionary process.

The High Evolutionary offered to teach Wyndham the secrets of evolution, and Wyndham accepted. Under the High Evolutionary’s tutelage, Wyndham learned how to manipulate the genetic code of living beings, allowing him to create new species and advance their evolution. This included the creation of the New Men, a race of human/animal hybrids who were stronger and more intelligent than regular humans.

However, Wyndham’s experiments were not always successful, and some of his creations were monstrous and dangerous. This led to numerous conflicts with other superheroes, such as the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy. Wyndham ultimately decided to leave Earth and create his own paradise, known as Counter-Earth, where he could continue his experiments without interference.

In addition to his scientific abilities, the High Evolutionary also possesses superhuman strength and durability. He wears a suit of armour that enhances his physical abilities and protects him from harm. Despite his sometimes dangerous experiments, the High Evolutionary believes that he is doing important work for the advancement of humanity, and will stop at nothing to achieve his goals.

The High Evolutionary made his first appearance in the Marvel Comics universe in The Mighty Thor #134, which was published in October 1966. The character was created by writer Roy Thomas and artist John Buscema.
